PORT ST. JOE - The finishing hole at the St. Joseph Bay Country Club does
not look imposing.
It is not long at less than 400 yards, and there are no hazards to speak
of, unless you count the trees that line every fairway.
Yet for some reason, the 18 th seems to take a chunk out of Brian Macoy
every time he plays it.
Fortunately for Macoy, his sterling play on the other 17 holes was plenty
good enough for a victory at the George G. Tapper Invitational on Sunday. . .

Smallwood wins fourth Tapper title
PORT ST. JOE (October 8, 2001) - Clay Smallwood shot a 78 and finished with a 153 Sunday to
win the 27th annual George G. Tapper Invitational Golf Tournament. The win
was Smallwood's fourth straight Tapper title.
The Port St. Joe native held off a stiff challenge from Gary Grant of
Lynn Haven, who shot a 79 to finish at 156 in the two-day event at the St.
Joseph's Bay Country Club . . .
